With a great folksong "Beyaz giyme toz olur" this film took the first order in my favorite list.It was represented in 2004.Then,I heard about it but didn't watch.I watched the film in holiday two weeks ago.After I searched about the film,I understood that the director Ahmet Ulucay told himself in the film.He always wanted to be director and at the end he carried out.Unfortunately he is ill now.I hope he would be better soon.
I want to tell you about the film a bit.The film was shooted in Tavsanlı,Kütahya.The leading role actor -Kadir Kaymaz- is an amateur.But he plays like a professional man.With his close friend (it is about 40 years ago) they want to create a film-machine.But it would not be easy of course.Nobody believes them except for the madman of the village -Ömer-.They endavoured a lot and at the end they carried out.They prepared everthing by hand.Beside all of the things,there is a fire in Mehmet's heart.He falls in love with a girl who is older than him.She never could answer to his love.Mehmet works as a watermelon seller in Tavşanlı,but their work falls away and Mehmet has to go back to his village.He wrotes a letter to Nihal.But before he is answered,Nihal and her family moves to another place.Mehmet gets disappointed again.He decides to major on film-making.But a bad surprise waits him.Mad Ömer makes all of the machines broken.The boats to which Mehmet loaded his hopes go to the bottom...
